I am a mom. I have 2 beautiful kids, a boy age 11 and a girl almost 9. It’s hard to believe they are that old already! It feels like yesterday that I was a brand new mom, totally overwhelmed with keeping this tiny human alive. I remember when our son was about 4 months old, and I finally felt like a person again…a little bit. Like I could think about things other than “What does this baby need right now, and what will he need next?”

It’s unreal being a mom. We had our daughter 2.5 years later, and that was a whole new dynamic. She was fiery from day one. I wouldn’t trade them for anything, and they truly are my world (along with my husband Joel). But, being a mom is an experience that changes you like nothing else. It was so much having 2 little ones that I didn’t even realize I was dealing with postpartum depression until our daughter was almost one year old. While I was still happy and loved my kids, there was a part of me that felt broken. There is nothing else I’ve seen that causes you to become as selfless, as giving, as tired and as loved. So when a fellow mom comes in for a boudoir session, she has a special place in my heart! Because I get it. I really do. We moms give, all the time. Our family always comes first. We do the things for our kids before we do them for ourselves, if we even do things for ourselves at all.

When another mom comes in for a boudoir session, my first priority is to make it all about HER. All about you! This is your chance to take a day to not be pulled on or have to run kids to activities – to be able to get dolled up and spend some quality time with yourself! I always say that we can’t give what we don’t have. And as moms, if we don’t take time to fill our cups, we are going to come up empty when we try to give to those around us.

My goal is to fill your cup, so that you can in turn be able to pour out on your family and friends from a place of fullness.

It’s also a special time to connect with yourself as a woman. Especially as a mom of littles, your body isn’t your own. Your sexy boobs come to be something entirely different if you nurse, and besides that you are just being touched and pulled and spilled on all the time. It can be so easy to disconnect from the sensual, feminine side of who you are when you just feel like you are in “Mom Mode” all the time. So I love when a client comes in telling me she’s looking to reconnect with that part of herself. Maybe she wants to find that spark again with her husband, or just wants to love and appreciate her body in it’s new shape for this phase of her life.

All of that is why moms are some of my favorite clients! You give so much – you deserve to do this for you. And you’re going to be a better wife, mom, friend for loving on yourself too! Read more about the experience and get in touch with me at LUXURY ST LOUIS BOUDOIR SESSION INFORMATION
